Foreword

RCL 2025 Season 3, the RCL's mission has expanded, aligning itself with Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi Ji's vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and a developed nation by 2047. This year, RCL will not only continue its focus on food security but will also champion initiatives that promote health, wellness, fitness, and sustainable food practices across the country. The league is dedicated to supporting flagship programs such as the Khelo India Programme, FIT India Movement, Pradhan Mantri Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana, POSHAN Abhiyaan, Eat Right India Movement, and the Incredible India Campaign.

One of the critical challenges we face globally is food insecurity. The UN Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) aims to create a world free of hunger by 2030. However, the statistics are stark: nearly 811 million people worldwide suffered from hunger in 2020, while 2.4 billion people lacked regular access to adequate food.

The RCL, since its inception in 2023, has committed itself to raising awareness around food security, reducing food waste, and facilitating the creation of food banks for the underprivileged. The first two editions of the league set the stage for a movement that encourages simple yet impactful changes in consumer habits. By promoting the reduction of food waste and ensuring access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food for vulnerable populations, including infants, the RCL has made significant strides in advancing these critical objectives.

RCL's Mission & Support towards Viksit Bharat

The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that approximately one-third of food produced for human consumption is wasted each year, resulting in 1.3 billion tons of food waste worldwide. On the other hand in 2020, nearly 811 million persons worldwide were suffering from hunger while a staggering 2.4 billion people, or above 30 per cent of the world's population, were moderately or severely food-insecure, lacking regular access to adequate food. The UN Sustainable Development Goal 2 is thus dedicated to creating a world free of hunger by 2030.
